  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lightly oil a 1 quart baking dish or spray with a nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Place bulgur, basil, salt and pepper in prepared baking dish.
  4. Add boiling water and mix well.
  5. Cover tightly and bake 20 minutes.
  6. Fluff with a fork, add pecans, and mix well.
  7. Serve hot.

  1. Slice the onions and fry in oil until soft. Peel the
  2. Peel the tomatoes in boiling water (or use tinned tomatoes). Slice and add to the onions.
  3. Wash, trim and chop the spinach coarsely. Add to the stew and cook, covered, over a medium heat for 5 minutes, and cook, covered, over a medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring to prevent sticking.
  4. Thin the peanut butter with hot water to make a smooth paste. Add to the stew. Season with salt and pepper and cook for another 5 - 10 minutes, stirring and adding water if necessary to prevent sticking.

  1. Rinse beans and soak overnight. Drain water and add 8 cups water to beans. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beans are tender. Drain beans and reserve liquid.
  2. In crockpot combine drained beans, and onion. Add 1 cup drained bean liquid, molasses, brown sugar, dry mustard, pepper, and salt.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or on high for 5-6 hours. Stir before serving.

  1. Blend soup, milk, and pepper. In 1 1/2-qt. casserole, arrange alternate layers of potatoes, onion, sauce, and cheese. Dot top with butter, sprinkle with paprika.
  2. Cover; bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover, bake 15 minutes more or until cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.
  3. Makes about 4 cups.

  2. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil. Add onion and saute until limp. Add the water chestnuts and continue cooking at low heat until chestnuts appear golden. Add sliced squash and seasonings and stir to mix thoroughly with the saute.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat 15 to 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.

  1. Lay dinner cuts on a flat surface, and cut in half lengthwise. Spread each with mustard; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Divide pickles, bacon bits, and onion among the dinner cuts equally.
  2. Roll up dinner cuts jelly-roll fashion, secure with beef-roll clamps, toothpicks, or thread.
  3. Heat oil in a heavy saucepan, add the dinner cuts, and brown well on all sides, about 15 minutes.
  4. Pour in hot broth, peppercorns, and bay leaf. Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  5. Remove dinner cuts, discard clamps, and arrange on a preheated platter.
  6. Blend cornstarch with a small amount of cold water, stir into gravy and bring to a boil. Boil until gravy is thick and bubbly. Correct seasonings and serve separately.

  1. In a large sauté pan, over medium heat, heat olive oil then add the onions. Season with black pepper. Sauté for 4 minutes.
  2. Add the cabbage. Continue to sauté until wilted, about 6 minutes.
  3. Add the Bacon bits. Stir in the cream. Bring the liquid to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium low.
  4. Add the spaetzle. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 4 to 6 minutes. Spoon the cabbage mixture into a serving bowl and serve . Garnish with parsley.
