Ingredients
Cookie
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup margarine or Butter softened
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 Each Egg Yolks
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Topping
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 egg whites -- beaten
- Strawberry or some kind of berry jam.
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans chopped (Optional)

Instructions
- Heat oven to 350.
- (Seperate eggs -- yolks and whites in seperate bowls.)
- In large bowl, cream brown sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Blend in almond extract and egg yolks.
- Gradually add flour, soda and salt to creamed mixture, mix well.
- Shape dough into balls and roll in egg whites, walnuts and then place balls onto greased cookie sheet, two inches apart. With thumb, make imprint in center of each cookie and fill with jam. Roll in chopped nuts (optional)
- Bake at 350 for 10 - 14 minutes.
